Simone Chivers of Queen Margaret College has won the SOUNZ-NZCF Composition Competition, for her piece Freedom;which was performed by the Queen Margaret Chorale at this year’s Regional Big Sing in Wellington.
Chilton Saint James School Seraphim Choir will begin a three week tour of Europe next month, including singing at mass in St Peter's Basilica in Rome.

The song of two Y10 Kristin students, Eleanor Lang and Stephanie Townsend, was chosen for the official Olympic Games CD in a London soundtrack competition.
The girls’ entry is one of four secondary school entries to be included on the “Anthem in Black” CD which will be promoted by the NZ Olympic Committee during the build up to the games.
The Committee, in conjunction with Play it Strange music trust, recently launched a nationwide search for the soundtrack to the London Olympics and approached schools to join the competition.
David was one of Christ’s College’s top academic students, and was awarded its joint Dux award for 2010.
