Cambridge offers for ACG Parnell students
Following recently released A-level Cambridge International Examination results, two ACG Parnell College students have received offers to the University of Cambridge, currently ranked the second-best university in the world.
With two A*s and an A grade, deputy head girl Ella-Rose Meagher has met the requirements to undertake a BA Honours in Education under the English, Drama and the Arts track at Gonville and Caius College. She said she was grateful to her teachers for the result.
“I have had the most incredible education over the last 10 years at ACG, and it is absolutely due to the superb teaching and guidance that I received that this is possible.”
Ella-Rose’s acceptance of the offer is dependent on receiving a scholarship.
Vaishnavi Gupta, who received four A* grades, has received an offer to study the six year medicine degree MB BChir, and been accepted to Christ's College Cambridge, which admits only one international student each year from the course. She will receive a BA in her third year of study. Vaishnavi also thanked her teachers for their guidance and support.
Principal Russell Brooke said both students were all-rounders.
“Entry to world-ranked universities like Cambridge is incredibly competitive and these students have performed outstandingly well to receive offers and meet the grade requirements. Both Ella-Rose and Vaishnavi have contributed so much to school life – in more than just academia – and thoroughly deserve this exciting opportunity.”
The offers top an outstanding academic year for the school, with the number of A* and A grades increasing by five percent on last year.
