NZQA Top Scholar Awards Ceremony

NZQA celebrated the success of the highest-achieving New Zealand Scholarship students at the annual Top Scholar Awards Ceremony hosted at Parliament on 1 May 2019.

The awards recognised the elite students who make up the 2018 Premier Award and Top Subject Scholarship Award winners. New Zealand Scholarship examinations assess students against challenging standards and are demanding for even the most able students.

Our Member Schools were well represented at the Awards: Premier Scholarship Awards winners included Russell Boey of St Andrew's College, Andrew Chen and Daniel Mar of Saint Kentigern College, and Willian Wynn Thomas of Christ's College. You can read more about all the recipents here.

Eight of the Top Subject Scholarship Award winners were students from our Member Schools:

  • Amy Wells of St Andrew's College (Agricultural and Horticultural Science)
  • Caleb Probine of ACG Parnell College (Calculus)
  • William Wynn Thomas of Christ's College (Chemistry and English)
  • Stella Swney of St Cuthbert's College (Design)
