Wellington's Scots College has announced that it will start enrolling girls in the senior school from 2020. At first, 60 year 11 and 12 female students will join the senior school and graduate as the first mixed-sex group from 2021. The integration will expand each year to a total of 150 girls by 2022.
The move aims to better prepare students for a mixed-sex environment and "rapidly changing workforce" after graduation, Scots College headmaster Graeme Yule said.
Following recently released A-level Cambridge International Examination results, two ACG Parnell College students have received offers to the University of Cambridge, currently ranked the second-best university in the world.
With two A*s and an A grade, deputy head girl Ella-Rose Meagher has met the requirements to undertake a BA Honours in Education under the English, Drama and the Arts track at Gonville and Caius College. She said she was grateful to her teachers for the result.
St Margaret's College student Aimee Taylor has been awarded a $28,000 scholarship to the International College of Hotel Management (ICHM) in South Australia, to study for a Bachelor of Business (Hospitality Management) and Bachelor of International Hotel Management (Swiss Hotel Association). Aimee was the only New Zealander to receive one of the five scholarships awarded by ICHM throughout Australia and New Zealand.
