We are seeking an experienced Librarian to work alongside our Library and Information Systems Manager in our busy school library, providing services for students in years 7-13. This role is Full Time, 40 hours per week, school terms only commencing at the beginning of Term 3 on 14th October 2024.
With experience in engaging students in the joy of reading and in our library's resources, applicants will have:
• Experience in using library management systems, including online databases
Experience working with students at a secondary school level
• Knowledge of learning resources and young adult literature
• Ability to review books and present to classes
• Previous experience in using library management systems, including online databases, and have excellent research skills.
• Planning and organisational skills, including cataloguing
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-orientated environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and be a confident communicator, able to relate to all in our community, especially students
• Exemplary service skills (friendly, welcoming, customer service focus)
• Digital competency in a range of software including cloud-based applications e.g. office 365
A recognised library qualification or someone who is currently undertaking, or planning to complete this qualification is preferred. A demonstrated willingness to learn and keep up to date with professional knowledge is required.
