Caleb Dudley, Business Development Manager at Chartwells
Tēnā koutou katoa. Ko Caleb tōku ingoa. Ko au te Kaiwhakahaere Whanaketanga Pakihi i Chartwells.
2024 has been a milestone year for Chartwells. Our commitment to delivering the highest quality food experiences has set a new standard within the residential education sector and established Chartwells as the leader in modern school food services.
We have spent the past year working hand-in-hand with our partner schools to create culinary experiences that foster not only healthy, balanced meals but also vibrant spaces that nurture community and connection. This year, feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, setting a new benchmark in quality and student satisfaction.
In the past 12 months, Chartwells has also focused on building our sustainability programs, introducing initiatives that emphasise local sourcing, seasonal ingredients, waste reduction and partnerships with local iwi and hapū such as with Te Rarawa for the sourcing of mandarins, Ngāti Hine for kumara and Ngāti Porou for fresh fish. Our dedication to fresh, sustainable ingredients not only supports our local communities but also educates students about the importance of sustainability in everyday choices. This year, new partnerships with local suppliers allowed us to bring the farm-to-table concept directly to schools, making fresh, nutritious meals more accessible than ever.
With 2025 on the horizon, Chartwells is excited to continue to expand our reach by bringing our award-winning services to new schools and continue to offer enhanced experiences. As we look forward, Chartwells is planning an array of initiatives that include the modernisation of dining and kitchen processes and facilities, integration of biometric pastoral care technology, expanded dietary and wellness programmes, exploration of te tūhono Māori and we will continue to create spectacular MasterChef and culinary events.
Every school is unique, and we embrace this individuality when designing food services. Under the leadership of our visionary Director of Growth, Alistair Dickie, we believe no dream is out of reach for a school - this commitment is evident in our ambitious proposals, where we create exceptional, modern dining experiences that align with each school’s values and needs.
The future is bright, and as we build on a remarkable 2024, we are confident that 2025 will be our biggest year yet. We welcome schools nationwide to join us on this journey toward transforming student dining experiences for the better.
