In developing the Professional and Learning Development (PLD) programme for 2025, ISNZ we wanted to create something that would appeal to the wide ranges of roles and responsibilities within our schools. We sought feedback from Heads/ Principals, along with various stakeholder groups and landed on a programme that can be broadly categorised into three groups: Teaching and Learning, Leadership Development, and Network Sharing.
Most importantly, we have sought feedback from our schools so that we have a good understanding of what’s important to them, which models of delivery work, and where we can add value. We understand that price is an issue so to bring costs down we are moving away from hotel venues and having more workshops in schools. We are also delivering some programmes on a regional basis to reduce travel and accommodation costs. We acknowledge that we can’t be all things to all people, and in some cases there may be other organisations that are better able to serve particular niches. International Education is a good example – where we direct people to specialist organisations such as SIEBA or ISANA for their professional development requirements.
