Call for Speakers - ISNZ Conference 2025

ISNZ ANNUAL CONFERENCE
Empowering Educational Excellence

12-13 September | Tākina Wellington Convention and Events Centre

Independent Schools of New Zealand (ISNZ) welcomes presentation proposals for the ISNZ Annual Conference, scheduled for 12-13 September at Tākina Wellington Convention and Events Centre.

About us

ISNZ is the national body representing a diverse range of independent schools across New Zealand. We empower independent schools to create a world class education for our next generation.

Empowering Educational Excellence

Our annual conference, reflects our commitment to fostering a culture of continuous improvement, creativity, and adaptability within the educational sector. It emphasises the importance of empowering school governors, leaders and managers to inspire excellence through innovative practices, collaborative partnerships, and transformative leadership. The conference will explore strategies to address evolving challenges in education, equip schools with tools to meet diverse learner needs, and celebrate the shared mission of achieving outstanding educational outcomes.

Audience

The ISNZ Annual Conference is open to anyone with an interest in educational leadership. The delegation is primarily made up of Principals, Governors, Board Members, Business Managers and other senior leaders and decision makers from independent schools in New Zealand.

What we are looking for

We are seeking presenters who will be able to challenge and inspire delegates through interactive sessions, workshops, discussion groups and panels. We aspire to participants feeling able to actively shape the discourse. Whether you are a renown professional speaker or thought leader, an academic or entrepreneur, an educator or a member of the ISNZ school community, we would like to hear from you. We are seeking to balance inspiring content from external speakers with the deep knowledge and experience that exists within.

Presentation formats

Keynotes: These presentations are standard plenary conference sessions and are 45 minutes to one hour in duration. They may include time for facilitated questions and answers with the audience.

Workshops: These sessions are expected to be interactive and should involve a high level of audience participation. Workshops may be 45 minutes or 90 minutes long.

7x7: Taking inspiration from Pecha Kucha, our 7x7 session will involve seven presenters sharing seven slides in seven minutes, focusing on an innovation, practice or story that will challenge and inspire.

Table Talks: This session provides opportunities for table ‘facilitators’ to lead a rapid-fire discussion on a particular question, issue, challenge or opportunity that will be of interest to delegates, including ideas that may have been raised during the conference. Delegates will rotate around tables, with 20 minutes allocated to each discussion.
