CGA Celebrates First Sporting Event: A Humble Milestone for Our Community

This year, Crimson Global Academy (CGA) reached a special milestone as we celebrated our fourth year of operation and the debut of our first-ever CGA sporting team. It was with great pride that we saw Daisy, Hattie, and Isabelle compete at the North Island Secondary School Equestrian Championship in Taupo, marking an exciting step for our online school community.

For these three students, it was an exciting moment to wear uniforms they had designed themselves, helping to build a sense of school spirit within our online community. While CGA is an online school and our students are scattered across the country, this event gave us a unique opportunity to come together, celebrate our shared passion for learning, and support one another beyond the virtual classroom.

Principal Mark Phillips travelled from Auckland, and Dean Di Austin made the journey from Picton, both there to offer their encouragement and cheer on the students. As an online school, these kinds of in-person gatherings are rare, and the experience was a reminder of how much we value community, connection, and the spirit of teamwork.

One of the highlights of this experience was the chance for our students to meet and connect with others from different schools—something that’s not always easy to do in an online learning environment. It was a meaningful step toward building those important in-person connections that we look forward to nurturing more of in the future.

While this was our first time competing, we hope it’s just the beginning. We are excited about supporting more students as they engage in future competitions, build school spirit, and continue to grow as part of the CGA community.
