St Margaret’s College is pleased to announce the appointment of two key staff to enhance their already comprehensive offering for international and domestic students. Rachel Clemenger as Director of Boarding and Valerie Eves (Inset) as International Baccalaureate Coordinator.
Rachel’s appointment to SMC marks a full circle moment for her as she started her boarding journey in Blue Dorm of Julius House. Her experience includes working at an indigenous boarding school in Cairns, a Sydney private girls’ school and more recently a boarding village in Brisbane. Her, husband Luke and daughters Jennifer and Alice are delighted to be home again in Christchurch and are looking forward to getting to know the SMC boarders and their families.
Valerie Eves, originally from New York, has been working in international education since 2010. She has taught in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) schools in Austria and Malaysia. Settling in New Zealand in 2019 with her family, she has been at St. Andrew’s College for the past 5 years and most recently served there as Head of Social Sciences. Beyond the classroom, Valerie has held roles as an IB Diploma Programme examiner, workshop leader and curriculum developer. Valerie is hugely excited and looking forward to contributing to the vibrant learning community at St. Margaret’s College.
