Share your practice - all teachers are invited to make a submission now!
We have been cognisant that there would be real benefit for our members if we could find a way to create an opportunity to bring teachers from across the independent school sector together to network, share, collaborate and connect. This is something we’ve heard from Principals as well as teachers. The Teacher Symposium aims to do this. The intention is that it will be very much a teacher led event – by teachers, for teachers. It’s not about curriculum but rather an opportunity to give teachers the chance to share and learn from colleagues – presenting the innovations and approaches that they are using in their schools that others may be able to learn from.
The Teacher Symposium is a new initiative for ISNZ and we think it has potential to grow into a flagship programme. We have established a symposium committee with representatives from several schools around the country to help us design and develop the two days, and we can’t wait to see it come together for the inaugural year.
The Teacher Symposium is on 30 June and 1 July at Diocesan School for Girls, Auckland and the cost is $245. Bookings and submissions can be made here. We encourage teachers to share their practice and make a submission as this event is very much for teachers, by teachers, however, teachers can attend the Symposium without making a submission. The closing date for submissions is 5 May 2025. Please contact us if you would like any further information and we look forward to seeing you there!
"The For-Teachers-By-Teachers Symposium is a unique opportunity for educators to share, learn, and grow alongside colleagues from across the independent school sector. I am excited to send my staff to engage with other passionate professionals, exchange best practices, and build meaningful connections. This symposium fosters collaboration, innovation, and inspiration—don’t miss this chance to be both challenged and empowered in your teaching journey!"
