Schooled Limited

Schooled started as Canterbury Education Services (CES) in 1989 when the Tomorrows Schools reforms were introduced, as a school owned cooperative to support Canterbury schools.  Since then our commitment to and focus on education hasn’t wavered, but the services we offer has grown to meet the demands of schools in an ever-changing environment. In 2024 CES was restructured from a school-owned cooperative to a Charitable Trust, (the CES Foundation), and Schooled Limited, both of which are registered charities with a purpose to support education across Aotearoa.

Schooled is a leading provider of accounting services to the education sector providing a range of services including monthly and annual reporting, full processing of payables, GST returns etc.  We also offer a payroll service where we take care of all your payroll concerns and keep things happening behind the scenes regardless if people are away or sick.  This also allows school staff to focus on things that can only be done in the school, which are more productive.

Because we work across a large number of schools, we are able to provide consulting services to schools on improvements to school support processes, accounting practices and governance reporting.  We also offer Principal Appointment consulting for when you have a Principal vacancy.

Schooled has been providing school board election services since 1992 and has been the returning officer of over 2000 elections. We have been the only provider accredited by the Ministry of Education to provide online election services to State and State-Integrated schools since this was introduced in 2022.

We offer a range of training and conference opportunities for school support staff across the country and our training program is growing significantly in 2025!  We can also provide individualised training for your school on a number of topics.
